Sleep and rest: the basis of your recovery
Sleep is the first thing we sacrifice when life fills up with tasks, and it is exactly what we need most to recover. Without good rest, the body does not repair and mood does not stabilize.
Why it matters
- Repair: tissues regenerate and the immune system is regulated during sleep.
- Mood: poor sleep increases irritability and anxiety.
- Weight: lack of sleep spikes hunger and sugar cravings.
- Memory: we consolidate what we learned while we sleep.
Sleep hygiene
- Fixed schedule: go to bed and wake at the same time.
- Dark and quiet room.
- No screens at least 30 minutes before.
- Caffeine only in the morning.
- Light, early dinner.
If nothing works
Anxiety, stress or hormones may be interfering. Waking up tired every day is not "normal".
A ritual to close the day
Breathe, write three lines about what happened and dim the lights. Your body learns to recognize the rest signal.
